Scott M. Herrick

Founder and President

Scott relocated to Alexandria, Virginia in the early 1980’s from New York in order to manage the construction and development of Landmark Mews, a 148-unit luxury townhouse project.  After completion of this development, Scott remained in the area, formed Landmark Communities and has completed over $400 million of single family and townhouse projects over the past twenty five years. He has also been involved with the formation and management of Landmark’s other companies and has played a key leadership role in the growth of Landmark’s multifamily portfolio.  Prior to forming Landmark, Scott had extensive involvement in the general contracting business (industrial, institutional, commercial, and residential projects) as well as real estate investment and development opportunities in New York.

Bernadette Manara

Bernadette is responsible for all aspects of the design, construction and marketing of the company’s residential product line. Her experience includes the development/construction of over 1,200 residential units.  She has a strong financial background that complements her construction and marketing talents. Bernadette is also involved in the overall management of Landmark’s companies.  Prior to joining the company in 1986, Bernadette held a high position within the US Department of the Treasury.  She holds an MBA in Finance from San Diego State and a BA degree in Mathematics.

Christopher Kammler

Chris has 22 years of experience working in the banking community and the private sector including financial management and development activities.  He is responsible for all aspects of capital procurement and debt placement.  In addition, Chris has been instrumental in the identification, acquisition and management of Landmark Atlantic’s properties.  He holds a BS degree in Finance from the University of New Orleans.

Donald Lawson, Sr.

Donnie has over twenty years experience in the construction field. He joined Landmark in 1984 as a carpentry crew foreman and through the years has assumed roles with increasing responsibility. Donnie is responsible for project management, land development and all aspects of field operations for the residential program.

John H. Thillmann

John has over 30 years of experience developing land use plans for neighborhoods at the Local, State, Federal level and in the private sector.  He is a professional land use planner and environment specialist.  He has managed the planning, engineering and environmental evaluation of projects ranging from $100,000 to over $45 million in infrastructure construction. In addition, John served on the Fairfax County Planning Commission for nearly eight years.  He holds a BA degree in Planning, MUA in Environmental Studies and a MA in Business Administration.

Lynn A. Abram

Lynn joined Landmark Atlantic in 2003 with the acquisition of 5827 Columbia Pike and 2700 S. Nelson Street. She is responsible for sales, leasing and acquisitions, as well as overseeing the brokerage activity of Landmark Atlantic’s properties. Previously Lynn worked with the Charles E Smith Companies as a leasing broker, and Uniwest Commercial Realty as a Managing Director of Sales and Leasing. She holds a BS Degree in Education
